- Select the appropriate PEMAT version for your assessment based on the material type: choose PEMAT-P for printable materials.
- Carefully assess each item in the PEMAT by indicating whether you agree or disagree with each criterion. You will have options for ‘Disagree’, ‘Agree’, and in some cases, ‘Not Applicable’. Take your time to ensure accuracy.
- Enter your scores in the designated rating column for each item. If you disagree, mark it as 0; if you agree, mark it as 1. Ensure you do not select ‘Not Applicable’ unless the option is available.
- Calculate the total scores for understandability and actionability by summing the points you assigned and dividing by the total possible points, excluding any ‘Not Applicable’ items.
- Interpret your final scores; remember that a higher score indicates better understandability and actionability of the material. Document these scores for future reference.
