Members who wish to withdraw from active work or do not expect to work or seek work under Equity's jurisdiction for a period of a year or more may seek “inactive status." Regardless of your membership status, under no circumstances may you appear with a non-Equity company or as a non-professional or apprentice.

Theatre Production Guide: Equity Contract Information AEA actors cannot accept non-union employment, but they can audition for any show at any theatre company. If the producers want to hire an Equity actor, they can negotiate an agreement, usually a Guest Artist contract, with the union.

How much does an Actors Equity make? As of Mar 29, 2023, the average annual pay for an Actors Equity in the United States is $81,302 a year. Just in case you need a simple salary calculator, that works out to be approximately $39.09 an hour. This is the equivalent of $1,563/week or $6,775/month.

Equity's dues structure has two components: Basic dues: $176 annually, billed at $88 twice a year each May and November. Working dues: 2.5% of gross earnings under Equity contract, which are collected through weekly payroll deductions.

By performing at participating Equity regional and summer stock theatres, actors can collect points toward their membership. Each week worked at a qualifying Equity theater equals one EMC point or credit. Actors currently need 25 EMC points to join Equity.

The contract will set actors' minimum weekly salaries on Broadway at $2,323, a figure that will be retroactively applied back to September 26 of this year. ing to the agreement, actors can expect automatic raises each year of the agreement, bringing that minimum to $2,638 by 2024.

One may be excused from future dues in the following manner: Temporary Withdrawal – Members who are in good standing (paid to date) with a zero balance are eligible for Temporary Withdrawal. Suspended Payment – Members who have outstanding dues or assessments are eligible for Suspended Payment.

I know that ing to Equity rules, there must be a 5 minute break every 55 minutes of rehearsal and a 10 minute break for every 80 minutes of rehearsal. I seem to remember hearing somewhere, though, that once you're past that 55 minute mark (maybe 60 minute mark), the next break you take must be a 10.
