If a member is serving an UNACCOMPANIED overseas tour, the member is eligible for BAH at the "with dependents" rate, based on the dependent's US residence ZIP Code, plus OHA at the "without dependents" rate, if the member is not furnished government housing overseas.

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is an entitlement granted to Airman who wish to live in privatized housing or in the local community and are eligible to do so. Airman who are eligible to receive BAH include Airmen with dependents and E-4 Airmen who have more than three years of service.

Member without dependents assigned to single-type government quarters between permanent duty stations and not entitled to BAH is entitled to partial BAH. This includes periods of temporary occupancy of government quarters in excess of 30 days without entitlement to BAH.

As a service member, you receive Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) that can be used toward rent or a mortgage. If you live on base, the BAH is deducted from your paycheck. The amount of BAH you receive depends on your geographic duty location, pay grade, and dependency status.

An unaccompanied overseas tour is a tour served overseas without command-sponsored dependents when dependents are authorized at that location.

Unaccompanied Tour (without dependents) The Soldier may elect an unaccompanied tour (“All Others Tour”) for family reasons or because Command Sponsorship of dependents is denied. Regardless, an All Others tour means dependents are not authorized to move overseas. This tour is a 12-month commitment.

BAH is an allowance to offset the cost of housing when you do not receive government-provided housing. Your BAH depends upon your location, pay grade and whether you have dependents. BAH rates are set by surveying the cost of rental properties in each geographic location.

(3)The term “military unaccompanied housing” means military housing intended to be occupied by members of the armed forces serving a tour of duty unaccompanied by dependents.
