The national Do Not Call list protects landline and wireless phone numbers. You can register your numbers on the national Do Not Call list at no cost by calling 1-888-382-1222 (voice) or 1-866-290-4236 (TTY). You must call from the phone number you wish to register. You can also register at donotcall.gov.

The Do Not Call Registry stops sales calls from real companies. The Registry is a list that tells telemarketers what numbers not to call. The FTC does not and cannot block calls. The Registry can't stop calls from scammers who ignore the Registry.

Registrations on the National Do Not Call Registry DO NOT EXPIRE. If you have previously registered your number, there is no need to register again.

Under the law, consumers may add their names to a Do Not Call List. It's illegal for telemarketers to call those numbers on the list and those found violating this law face fines of $11,000 per call. For example, if you act in July or August, they must stop calling you by the end of September.
