How to fill out the Cfacts online
This guide provides a detailed overview of how to complete the Cfacts online form effectively. By following the outlined steps, users will gain confidence in documenting security controls and managing systems through the Cfacts platform.
Follow the steps to fill out the Cfacts form correctly.
- Press the ‘Get Form’ button to access the Cfacts form and open it in the editor.
- Log into Cfacts using the prescribed procedure for accessing the platform. Ensure you have authorized access to the necessary CMS systems.
- Select the applicable system by choosing from either the Home screen or the Browse Screen. This will bring up the system's Identification tab.
- Click on the Security Controls tab to navigate to the Self-Assessment screen.
- Locate the pertinent Security Control from the list. You may also navigate using the First, Previous, Next, and Last links present at the top and bottom of the page.
- To view the full text of the control requirement, click on the more details link in the Description field, then select the Close button after reviewing.
- For the Security Control Scoping field, retain the default assignment as provided by Cfacts. Contact CISO if modifications are necessary.
- If this control is inheritable, click on the alert link in the Common Control field. Verify that all alerts are acknowledged and understood.
- Check the In Place checkbox under the Control Implementation Status field to indicate that the control is operational.
- Leave the Security Controls Effectiveness, Risk Based Decision, and Inherited From fields as populated by Cfacts.
- Populate the Compliance Description field with details on how the system meets Baseline Control and Implementation Standards.
- Upload necessary documentation in the Compliance Details field to support your control implementation descriptions.
- Select the Save button to ensure your entries are recorded.
- To document additional control implementations, navigate back to Step 5 or exit the form.
