Hospice services are covered by Medicare or Medicaid, private insurance, private pay or through charitable care.

Your loved one and your family can receive the extensive support of Arkansas Hospice right away if the patient is certified as being terminally ill by a physician and has a prognosis of six months or less if the disease runs its normal course. A patient can be referred to Arkansas Hospice by their physician.

Hospice is the practice of care, not a specific place of care. Arkansas Hospice enables patients with a projected lifespan of six months or less, due to serious illness, to live their final days to the fullest in the comfort of their homes – or in home-like settings – surrounded by loved ones.

Hospice They get care from a Medicare-certified hospice. Their attending physician (if they have one) and the hospice physician certifies them as terminally ill, with a medical prognosis of 6 months or less to live if the illness runs its normal course.

The hospice patient must be terminally ill. “Terminally ill” is defined as having a medical prognosis with a life expectancy of six months or less.
