The original company name was George and Thomas Cone Company. Founder Albert George's grandson, David George, is the current CEO. Joy Baking employs about 1,000 people. The company is owned by the George family and its employees.

In the late 1960s, Joe George initiated the “Joy” retail brand, which opened up the business to new markets. The company also opened a machine shop and began manufacturing new cake cone molds. Soon the shop was producing full sets of molds. By 1969, the company built its first addition, a new warehouse, on Lamor Road.

Joy Cone Company has 201 to 500 employees.

Currently we produce over 2 billion cones each year from four locations. Our corporate location in Hermitage, Pennsylvania, is where it all started. We are able to serve our customers across the U.S. and Mexico with the help of our Flagstaff, Arizona, Le Mars, Iowa and Mexico City, Mexico facilities.
