There are usually three main placement tests. They test math, reading and writing abilities. You may need to brush up on these skills before testing time. Not all community colleges use the same placement tests.

S.P.I.R.E. is used with a wide range of struggling students in pre-K to 12, including Tier 2, Tier 3, Special Education, students with Dyslexia, and English Language Learners. S.P.I.R.E. is designed for small group instruction to make sure that each student gets individual attention based on his or her own needs.

Placement testing is done online, so you can choose the day when it is most convenient for you to take the tests that you need to take.

Use School Resources. Most schools that offer placement testing also have studying resources available. These often include practice problems, review packets or workshops. Your school's resources may be accessible online, or you may need to visit a student learning center on campus to prepare.
