Use Date Title For Free

\@ and @ in macro names LaTeX defines internal commands whose names contain the character @ to avoid clashes between its internal names and names that we would normally use in our documents. In order that these commands may work at all, \documentclass and \usepackage play around with the meaning of @ .

For date, always include four digit year and use numbers for months. For example, the date format yyyy-mm-dd would appear as 2011-03-15 (March 15, 2011). If Julian day is used, make sure the year field is also supplied. For example, mmm.

The \\ command tells LaTeX to start a new line. It has an optional argument, extra-space , that specifies how much extra vertical space is to be inserted before the next line. This can be a negative amount.

The United States is one of the few countries that use ?mm-dd-yyyy? as their date format?which is very very unique! The day is written first and the year last in most countries (dd-mm-yyyy) and some nations, such as Iran, Korea, and China, write the year first and the day last (yyyy-mm-dd).

If you want to put a specific date then type it in the argument to \date{...}. If you do not want a date then type \date{} with the argument empty. \documentclass: This is always the first line (command) in any LaTeX file.

You can define a title for your document using \title{} and then create the title itself using \maketitle . You can also add other information such as the author(s) and the date, e.g. Note the use of \today to automatically insert the date you created the document. If you simply want the character to be printed just as any other letter, include a \ in front of the character. For example, \$ will produce $ in your output. The exception to the rule is the \ itself because \\ has its own special meaning. A \ is produced by typing $\backslash$ in your file.
