The Show Page Breaks option on the Advanced tab will be grayed out if you are in Page Layout view or in Page Break Preview view. This only shows up if you are in Normal View.

I found the problem however..... On the Print , and then "Page Setup" at the bottom, there was a button ticked for the page to "fit to 1 page wide by 1 page tall". This instruction was OVERRIDING my attempt for a page break. When I unticked the Fit to Page...all was solved, and my Page Breaks are now working.

If manual page breaks that you add don't work, you may have the Fit To scaling option selected (Page Layout tab -> Page Setup group -> click Dialog Box Launcher Button image -> Page). Change the scaling to Adjust to instead.
