Tag Line Permit For Free

A tag or restraint line shall be used when the rotation of the load is hazardous.? Construction OSHA §1926.1417(w) says ?A tag or restraint line must be used if necessary to prevent rotation of the load that would be hazardous.?

Taglines are simply ropes or lines that are connected to the load and controlled by personnel on the ground holding the opposite end of the line. Taglines must be large enough to be easily grasped and must be made of electrically non-conductive material.

Ideally, a great tagline is 2-4 words, and absolutely no longer than 7-8 words. Remember, this is not a mission statement where you need to explain your grand vision and how you will accomplish it--it's a short phrase that should attract and stick with potential customers. ?Just Do It.? ?Think Different.?

OSHA in CFR1926.1401 (Cranes and Derricks in Construction ? Definitions) states ?Tagline means a rope (usually fiber) attached to a lifted load for purposes of controlling load spinning and pendular motions or used to stabilize a bucket or magnet during material handling operations?.

A tagline is a rope of suitable strength, construction and length attached with an appropriate recognised bend or hitch to a load during a lifting operation to allow a rigger to control swinging and/or rotation of a suspended load during lifting or positioning.

A tagline should achieve all of the following for your brand: Communicate the brand's unique value proposition (brand promise) Be succinct. Be memorable.

It's important to note that taglines only work in tension. The handler should be able to hold the tagline at waist or shoulder-level?When the tagline must be held higher than this, it's less effective it is at controlling the load.

Firstly, there are no written rules that tell us how many tag lines should be used for lifting loads. However, as a rule of thumb ? use as many as needed to adequately control the load.
