New residents must title and register their vehicles within 60 days after becoming a Delaware resident. State law requires changes of address to be reported to the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) within 30 days.

Complete the purchase out-of-state. Bring the old title, proof of insurance, and the bill of sale to the DMV and obtain a 5-Day Temporary Tag. Bring the vehicle to a Delaware inspection lane. Once you receive an inspection certificate, bring all your paperwork to the DMV to get the new title and registration.

Log into your MyDMV account and submit an online record request using your approved security access code at . All requested records found will be distributed electronically to the primary email address associated with the approved security access code.

Individuals who are new to Delaware are required to title and register their out-of-state vehicle within 60 days of establishing residency. As a resident, you are required to complete your vehicle title transfer in person at your local Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office.

They would need to provide the following documents to any DMV location: A copy of a registration and proof of insurance for a vehicle owned in the state where they are a resident. Existing GA License/ID holders have 60 days to change their address. Address changes can be done online, by downloading the DDS 2 GO mobile app, or In-Person at a DDS Customer Service Center. You cannot perform an address change by mail or phone. Allow up to 30 days for the license to be delivered.

You must turn in your previously issued out-of-state driver license and/or identification card, provide proof of legal presence such as a birth certificate or passport, proof of social security number, and if applicable, proof of legal name change(s) and two proofs of DE residency.
