If your monitor is having problems with resolution, it's probably your graphics card! If you're getting a display, but it isn't displaying properly, it's probably just a matter of updating your graphics card's driver.

Not only can you watch 4K videos on a 1080P monitor, you actually get most of the benefit of 4K. That's because 4K cameras are capturing 2 green, 1 blue, and 1 red pixel so each pixel isn't a full color pixel.

Turns out, the solution is simple. I just unplugged my monitor and then plugged it back in. All the sudden, my monitor auto adjusted and I was able to select the 1920x1080 recommended resolution.

If you have a windows computer click on the start button > search for screen resolution > and then find the dropdown and go to the highest setting. If the highest setting is 1920x1080 then it is in fact a 1080p monitor.
