Standard split criteria for billing: In case additional fields are required to be added as a parameter for splitting the billing document. For such scenarios SAP has provided a field VBRK-ZUKRI where you can concatenate required field values to customize the split criteria.

Interim invoice. An interim invoice is designed to break down the cost of a big project into smaller payments. Instead of sending one final invoice after the project concludes, you send several small ones as the project progresses.

The two most common ways to do this are: Just create a new invoice for the amount you want the customer to day. Then when you are finished the job, create another new invoice for the remaining amount. The invoices won't be linked, except through the Contact Name.

Step 1: Create a draft invoice containing the full price breakdown of the goods and services provided. Step 2: Decide the percentages you wish to charge on each of the two split invoices. This could be 50/50, 75/25, or any other percentage that makes sense to you.

A split payment invoice spreads payment for a single invoice across multiple invoices instead. The business creates an initial draft invoice, before working out a payment plan with the customer. After the terms are agreed upon by both parties, you can then split this draft invoice into a series of invoices instead.

As a rule, the system combines into one billing document all transactions for the same customer, default billing date and sales organization. If data from the related reference documents differs in the header fields of the billing document, the system will automatically split the invoice.

No matter whether you are billing a single reference document (for example, one outbound delivery) or several reference documents (for example, five outbound deliveries), if certain fields on header or item level of these reference documents are not identical, a billing document split occurs.
