Field Level Security (FLS): Making a field required at the field level will require the field to be filled in, regardless of how the record is created or updated. This is a more robust way to require a field, but it applies globally to all users and profiles.

Field-level security?or field permissions?control whether a user can see, edit, and delete the value for a particular field on an object. They let you protect sensitive fields without having to hide the whole object from users.

For example, you can have a field that's required in a page layout but is read-only in the field-level security settings. The field-level security overrides the page layout, so the field remains read-only. You can define field-level security in either of these ways.

Restrict Field Access with a Profile From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Profiles, and then select Profiles. Click the name of the profile that you want to change. Click Object Settings and select the object for which you want to update the field settings. Click Edit.

From Setup, open Object Manager, and then in the Quick Find box, enter the name of the object containing the field. Select the object, and then click Fields & Relationships. Select the field you want to modify. Click Set Field-Level Security. Specify the field's access level. Save your changes.

Click on the gear icon then Setup > Object Manager. Choose the object > Validation Rules. Click on New. Enter a Rule Name. Enter an Error Condition Formula, you can use ISBLANK or ISNULL to check that the field is not empty. Enter an Error Message. Select an Error Location. Click on Save.
