To add page header and footer sections or report header and footer sections to your report, right-click any section selector and then click Page Header/Footer or Report Header/Footer on the shortcut menu.

The report elements that are positioned above the report body on the report design surface make up a report header. They only appear once as the report's opening content.

The Page Header, remember, is the one that appears on every page of your report. The Report Header just appears on the first page.

You can set the PageHeader property in Design view or Layout view. Access normally prints report page headers on every page in a report, including the first and last. In report Design view, click Page Header/Footer under Show/Hide on the Arrange tab to display the page header and page footer sections.

Report Header: The Report Header contains text that appears at the top of the first page of a report, such as the name of the report. Detail: The Detail section contains text and the actual fields that are displayed for each record. This would be like the main body in a word-processing document.

Use the report header for information that might normally appear on a cover page, such as a logo, a title, or a date. When you place a calculated control that uses the Sum aggregate function in the report header, the sum calculated is for the entire report. The report header is printed before the page header.
