If you received Form I-864 through the National Visa Center (NVC), you can submit it online through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC).

An affidavit must be notarized, signed in the presence of witnesses, and the affiant must swear that the facts contained in it are true and correct. It is absolutely vital that individuals thoroughly read and understand all of the information contained in the affidavit prior to signing it.

You, the sponsor, should complete Form I-864 when your relative has been scheduled for an immigrant visa interview with a consular officer overseas or when your relative is about to submit an application for adjustment to permanent resident status with USCIS or with an Immigration Court in the United States.
