13. ?(1) An application for planning permission shall be publicised by the local planning authority to which the application is made in the manner prescribed by this article.

Notice Under Article 13. NOTICE UNDER ARTICLE 13 OF APPLICATION FOR. PLANNING PERMISSION FOR HOUSEHOLDER DEVELOPMENT. (to be published in a newspaper and, where relevant, on a website or to be served on. an owner* or a tenant** in the case of an application for planning permission)

Major planning applications are a special category of development and include: housing proposals for 50 units or more, or sites of 2 hectares or greater.

In planning, major development is defined as: The provision of 10 or more dwelling houses. Outline application on a site area of 0.5 hectares or more and where the proposed number of dwellings has not been specified.

The Notice to Owners (Notice 1) must be completed and sent to all known owners. Where the owner is unknown the Notice to Unknown Owners (Notice 2) needs to be published in a local newspaper. If the proposal is a Householder Development, the Householder Notice should be completed.

13. ?(1) An application for planning permission shall be publicised by the local planning authority to which the application is made in the manner prescribed by this article.

A single notice will be posted for the majority of applications, but two or more may occasionally be posted for very large sites or applications. The site notice should be in place for no less than 21 days.

As a local planning authority we are required by law to publicise all planning applications. This can include advertisements in a local newspaper, site notices and neighbour notifications. Applications are also advertised weekly in the press and on the Council's website.

The site notice must remain in place for at least 5 weeks from the date of receipt of the planning application.

Generally, the local planning authority must make a decision on a planning application within 8 weeks of receiving the application, but if the local authority needs more information, or the decision is appealed, it may take much longer.
