A packing slip is a document used to itemize the products in a package. It is placed on the inside of the package for customer reference. Alternatively, a shipping label is placed on the outside of the package and used by the carrier and shipment company to ensure the product is delivered to the destination.

One way to save paper goods from getting bent when packaging is to include a solid backing. You can place cardboard the same size as the envelope inside to protect the items from dents. Additionally, put another cardboard in front of the photo or artwork to add a layer of protection.

Simply include a copy of the form inside the package, then attach the short form or label to the outside package. Make sure you use transparent tape (or put it in the plastic envelope attached to the package) so that the form can be clearly read.

For many carrier services, your customs form is combined with the shipping label you attach to your package. Some deliveries require a multi-page form that should be attached using a clear envelope. It's also a good idea to include a copy of the customs form inside your shipment.
