Official Transcripts In order for transcripts to be considered official they must be: Printed on security paper directly and/or displaying an official raised seal from the college or university, per the institutions standard practice.

CUNY prefers transcripts and other supporting material to be submitted electronically through the CUNY application or by email. Submitting Electronically: Transcripts@cuny.edu: High School Students. Admissions@cuny.edu: Home School Students, Students Educated Outside of the United States, HSE Students.

Transcripts that have been in the hands of the student such as student copy/unofficial transcripts are not considered official. Unofficial transcripts are printed on plain paper and do not have a college seal or registrar's signature. Unofficial transcripts cannot be used to transfer to another college or university.

U.S. Mail typically requires up to seven business days for delivery. We will resend the transcript one time free of charge if a reasonable amount of time has passed. Please remember that institutions can take 4-6 weeks to process incoming transcripts and make the necessary entries in their computer systems.
