Right-click on the file and click on Properties. In the Properties window, click on the Details tab then click on Remove Properties and Personal Information. You can remove information in two ways. You can remove metadata from the original file or make a copy of the file without any metadata.

To add page numbers to your Word document, switch over to the Insert tab on the Ribbon and then click the Page Number button in the Header & Footer section. A drop-down menu shows several different options for where you'd like the page numbers to appeartop of the page, bottom of the page, and so on.

This problem is due to Field Codes being somehow toggled on. If the problem is with a single document, toggle the field codes off or on by first selecting the entire document with (cntl+a) and then toggle the field codes off or on with (shift-F9).

If you mean that you want to get rid of the fields and replace them with plain text that represents the result of the field, then the easiest method is to select the entire document (Ctrl+A) and then press Ctrl+Shift+F9 to "unlink" the fields.

To toggle between the field code and its resulting value, select the entire field and press Shift + F9. To toggle all the fields in your document, press Alt + F9. So if you open a document and see field codes instead of results, simply press Alt + F9 to toggle them all.

You can do this by selecting the field and press Ctrl+F11. This "locks" the field so it does not update from its current value.

Delete a field from a table. In the Navigation Pane, right-click the table, and then click Design View. In the table design grid, select the field that you want to delete, and then press DEL.
