Page breaks are used to end a page without filling it with text. To make sure the title page of your thesis/dissertation is separate from the signature page, for example, insert a page break after the graduation date on the title page.

If you need to delete a page break, you must turn off Track Changes, delete the break (make sure you're in Normal view), and enable Track Changes when you're done. To quickly disable and enable Track Changes, just double-click the TRK section in the Status bar or press [Ctrl]+[Shift]+E.

In Word you can force a page break by positioning your cursor at the appropriate place and pressing Ctrl + Enter. To insert a manual page break, click into the document at the place you want the page break to occur, before an automatic break. ... A page break that you explicitly insert.

You can insert a page break on any bar within a project. To insert a page break onto a bar, right-click the bar on which you want to insert a page break and select the Page Break command from the menu that appears. The page break appears on the bar as a dotted line.

Insert a manual page break Click or tap in the document where you want a page break. Go to Insert > Page Break.

Open the Page layout menu. This will open a selection of editing options at the top of the editor. Click Adjust Page Breaks. This will cause Add page break buttons to appear throughout the resume.

Go to Layout > Breaks, and then choose the type of section break you want. Next Page Starts the new section on the following page. Continuous Starts the new section on the same page. This section break is particularly useful for documents that have columns.

You can quickly create a manual (forced) page break by clicking the Page Break button in the Pages group on the Insert tab. To see more Breaks options, on the Page Layout tab, in the Page Setup group click the Breaks button to see a drop down viewing pane of Page Breaks options and definitions (see Figure below).
