That is, the maximum index key length is 1536 bytes when the page size is 8KB, and 768 bytes when the page size is 4KB. The limits that apply to index key prefixes also apply to full-column index keys. A maximum of 16 columns is permitted for multicolumn indexes. Exceeding the limit returns an error.

MySQL has hard limit of 4096 columns per table, but the effective maximum may be less for a given table. The exact column limit depends on several factors: The maximum row size for a table constrains the number (and possibly size) of columns because the total length of all columns cannot exceed this size.

Table Size Limits. MyISAM tables have a default limit set to 256TB for data and index files, which you can change to 65,536TB maximum. InnoDB maximum size for tables is 256TB, which corresponds to the full tablespace size.

"Limit Columns By View" doesn't limit the amount of items, it limits the amount of columns. Example: if you have Status and Description, and you create a View that's filtered on Status and only shows the Description column, it will still return all unfiltered items, but will only bring back the Description column.

IMPORTANT The Snowflake ODBC driver limits the number of columns to 16,384 because of limitations for the length of SQL commands. The driver also limits the number of columns by the data length that is required to read or write one row. When all data is only numeric, this results in a limit of about 7,480 columns.
