1 Answer. It seems that the use of asterisk just after \listoffigures (or \newpage if you are using it) removes the list of figures from the table of contents. Of course the same is valid for the list of tables.

The commands \listoffigures and \listoftables are self explanatory, the first one generates the list of figures and the second one the list of tables. In this example there are two more relevant commands: \thispagestyle{empty} Removes the page numbering.
