The difference between a Footnote and an Endnote is where they are displayed in the document. A footnote appears at the bottom of the page, and an endnote appears at the end of a document. Both references are created similarly. There's no need to type the note's number, it's done automatically.

Searching for Footnote and Endnote Marks Press Ctrl+F to display the Find tab of the Find and Replace dialog box. (See Figure 1.) In the Find What box, enter the text for which you want to search. First, you should check the obvious formatting-related issues. Are some of your footnotes formatted as Hidden text? If they are and you have Word configured to not print Hidden text, the footnotes will not be visible in Print Preview. You'll also want to check to make sure that Track Changes isn't turned on.
