Adding or deleting a co-owner from a Wisconsin title is considered a transfer of ownership. A properly reassigned title and lien release documents (if applicable) are necessary. No vehicle may be sold if the dealer does not have a valid title which can be given at the time of sale; or, if papers are in transit, such title must be delivered within 20 days.

Lost or Duplicate Vehicle Title If your title has been lost, stolen, damaged, or has altered legibility, you can obtain a duplicate title at one of Denver's DMV branch offices (Denver residents only).

Co-Owner ? Two or more individuals that have equal legal ownership of a vehicle. At this time, eMV Public allows only two owners to be added. If more than two owners will be listed on the new title, please complete a Wisconsin Title and License Plate Application MV1, and mail it to WisDOT.

Purchase from a Colorado Dealership We will send you a Title Complete Notice (white postcard) in the mail when your title paperwork is complete. Once you receive this notice, you can register your vehicle online.

Contact the Title and Registration Section representative to complete a Colorado Electronic Lien and Title Service Provider Contract. Upon execution of the contract, the authorized Service Provider must successfully complete system testing prior to becoming an approved and authorized Service Provider.

Your Colorado title will be mailed to you when there are no liens filed against your vehicle. If there is a lien, the title will be mailed to the lienholder. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery.

If you financed a vehicle through a dealer/lender, your title paperwork must be completed by the dealership and County. This process takes up to 60 days. If it has been less than 55 days since your temporary tags were issued, please wait to receive a Title Complete postcard in the mail.

If you have not received a Title Complete Notice from the DMV in the mail, you can still register your vehicle by visiting one of our DMV branch offices (Denver residents only) by bringing in the title and all of your original purchase documents from the dealer (carbon copies are not permissable).
