Alberta diploma exams will be worth 20 per cent of a student's grade this school year.

Diploma exam weighting will be return to being weighted at 30 per cent for the 2023-2024 school year. The 2020-2021 school year diploma exams were optional due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2021-2022 school year diploma exams were weighted at 10 per cent.

To attain an Alberta High School Diploma, a student must earn a minimum of 100 credits by completing: 15 credits English (must complete 30-1 or 30-2) 15 credits Social Studies (must complete 30-1 or 30-2) 10 credits Mathematics (must complete 20 level)

Diploma exams written by Alberta students this school year will only count for 20 per cent of their final marks. The exams used to be worth half of students' end mark, but the Alberta government reduced the weight of diplomas from 50 per cent to 30 per cent in 2015.

2022/23 diploma exam update For the 2022-2023 school year, diploma exams will only count towards 20% of students' final grades. The weighting of diploma exams will return to 30% effective September 1, 2023.

As a temporary measure for the 2022-23 school year, diploma exams will be weighted at 20% of a student's final mark.

There is no diploma exam for this course.

Level 5. Level 5 qualifications are: diploma of higher education ( DipHE ) foundation degree.

Getting Your Diploma Diplomas will be mailed out roughly 8-12 weeks after grades have been posted to students who have officially graduated, with no outstanding financial obligations due to the university. However, your degree is recorded on your transcript 6 weeks after commencement.
