Extend Bates Certificate For Free

You may apply for your OPT extension up to 90 days before your current OPT ends. You cannot apply once your 12-month OPT expires or during the 60-day grace period. Your complete OPT extension application must be received by USCIS before the expiration of your initial 12 months of OPT.

Students are required to have a 2.0 cumulative GPA in order to be awarded credentials at Bates Technical College. Any student who receives less than a 2.0 quarterly GPA will be notified that satisfactory academic progress is not met at the end of a given quarter.

Bates College admissions is most selective with an acceptance rate of 17%. Half the applicants admitted to Bates College have an SAT score between 1260 and 1470 or an ACT score of 30 and 34.

With a GPA of 3.88, Bates College requires you to be near the top of your class, and well above average. You'll need mostly A's, ideally with several AP or IB classes to help show your preparation at a college level. If you're a junior or senior, your GPA is hard to change from this point on.

How long will it take for my application to be approved? Processing times vary greatly, but you should expect USCIS to take about 90-120 days to approve your STEM OPT Extension application.
