Educators are required to earn 150 professional development points (PDPs) in order to be recertified in their primary area of licensure, and 30 PDPs for each additional license.

Your surname is your family name. It's also called your ?last name.? When filling out applications, type your surname as it appears on your passport, travel or identity document. Do not use initials.

3 graduate credits = 67.5 PDPs - 37.5 PDPs out of 67.5 have been applied to meet the content requirement.

An Initial License requires passing scores on the appropriate MTEL exam and completion of a DESE-approved educator preparation program. An Initial License is valid for five years of employment and may be extended once, for five years. After that time, an educator is required to advance to a Professional License.
