Establish Required Field Text For Free

It is a common technique to add an asterisk * to a form control's label. Then, somewhere else on the page, for example below the form, this asterisk is explained to indicate a required input (in allusion to foot notes in text documents).

In the Add Field/ Edit Field overlay, you can check the Make this field as required checkbox to make the field mandatory.

Click on gear icon then Setup > Object Manager. Choose the object > Page Layouts. Select the page layout that you use on the object. Click on the wrench icon beside the custom field that you will make required. Select the Required checkbox. Click on Ok, then click on Save.
