Postcard hunts are available through the Public Hunt Drawing System. There are no application or permit fees to apply for the Postcard hunts, but adults applying for the hunts are required to possess an Annual Public Hunting Permit. General, youthonly and youth/adult categories are available.

The permits allow drawn hunts on both public and private lands throughout Texas. Among the offerings available through the online system are hunts for white-tailed and mule deer, pronghorn, turkey, alligator, dove and guided packages for exotic species and bighorn sheep.

Adult applicants selected for special permit and national wildlife refuge hunts are required to pay an additional fee that ranges from $80 to $130, depending on the hunt.

If you are not selected initially and a secondary drawing is scheduled your application status will read Not Selected ? Pending Second Draw. If you are selected for a permit during the secondary draw, a selection notice will be emailed to you and a new permit fee due date will be set.

Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit A valid Texas Hunting License along with any required stamp endorsements is required in addition to the APH Permit to participate in hunting opportunities offered through the Public Hunting Program.
