Who can apply? There are no residency restrictions; Texas, U.S. residents and non-residents can apply. What are the age requirements? Youth applicants for Special Permit hunts must be between 8 and 16 years old.

If you are not selected initially and a secondary drawing is scheduled your application status will read Not Selected ? Pending Second Draw. If you are selected for a permit during the secondary draw, a selection notice will be emailed to you and a new permit fee due date will be set.

Postcard hunts are available through the Public Hunt Drawing System. There are no application or permit fees to apply for the Postcard hunts, but adults applying for the hunts are required to possess an Annual Public Hunting Permit. General, youthonly and youth/adult categories are available.

These are primarily DIY hunting opportunities in Texas that are conducted on a mixture of private and public land all across the state!

Loyalty Points System (Formerly Preference Points) Loyalty points reward those who continue to participate in the Drawn Hunt program. Points are accrued at the Category level when the application is submitted so your participation is rewarded before the drawing is held. They continue to accrue until you are drawn.

Utah's preference point system gives hunters who don't draw a general-season buck deer, antlerless deer, antlerless elk or doe pronghorn permit a better chance at drawing one the following year. Each time you apply for one of these permits and don't draw one, you'll receive a preference point.

The permits allow drawn hunts on both public and private lands throughout Texas. Among the offerings available through the online system are hunts for white-tailed and mule deer, pronghorn, turkey, alligator, dove and guided packages for exotic species and bighorn sheep.
