Recording the deed: Once all necessary taxes and fees have been paid, take the original deed, a copy of the deed, and the completed and signed Land Instrument Intake Sheet to the Division of Land Records at the Circuit Court. You must pay the recording fee.

Deeds are public information. This means anyone can view and get a copy of a deed. Deeds can be viewed for free online through mdlandrec.net. You must create an account with the Maryland State Archives to view deeds on mdlandrec.net.

To obtain a copy of a deed, you must contact Land Records for Prince George's County. The help desk phone number is 301-780-2253.

There are two ways to get a copy of your deed. Either get your deed online or pick up a copy in person at the circuit court. Deeds and most other documents kept by the Land Records Department are available through mdlandrec.net.

You can find your property records online at the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Massachusetts Land Records website at MassLandRecords.com. Access is available to deeds, mortgages, plans, and other land records recorded in the various Registries of Deeds.

A Pennsylvania property deed must contain the current owner (the grantor), the new owner (the grantee), a legal description of the property, and the signature of the grantor before the transfer.

Approximately one month after your settlement date, you should have received your original recorded deed. If, however, you have not received your original deed then you need to contact your lawyer or your title company to obtain your original deed.

Call 311 for assistance. You can request a certified or uncertified copy of property records online or in person. Certified copies cost $4 per page. Uncertified copies printed at a City Register Office cost $1 per page.

If Title Deeds are mislaid or destroyed and the property or land is registered, a simple check with Land Registry will provide details of ownership. Often Land Registry will hold electronic versions of documents associated with the property which can be downloaded from their website for a small fee.
