Display Initials Text For Free

If you have a picture in your contacts, you'll see your picture, not your initials. To see the initials, you'd need to remove the picture. Note that what you see is not necessarily what your recipient sees. If you want other people to see your photo, go to Settings>Messages>share Name and Photo.

When initializing a name, we must include both the first and last names together. Usually, we don't include a middle name, but if you already include your middle name in your full name, your initials should be three letters long. For example, if your name is Jamal Cruz, and your initials are JC.

If you are following the traditional initial order, the last name initial will be the largest and in the center, with the first and middle name on the left and right. If you keep both your maiden name and your last name, then your middle name can be substituted with your maiden name in the initials.

Traditionally, a monogram reads First Name Initial, Last Name Initial, Middle Name or Maiden Name Initial. With the Last Name Initial being the larger Middle Initial. For example, if you had the name Kelsie Elizabeth Vogds, her monogram would read KVE.

Any initials coming from a name (such as The W. A. Franke College of Business or J. L. Walkup) should have periods and a space between the two initials, just as the two names would have a space. All other acronyms should not have periods or spaces.

Traditionally, the first letters of their first, last and middle name are used, in that order. For couples, if they share their last name, the last name remains in the middle with the initials of their first names on the left and right side.

For names like "AnnaLee," the consensus is to use the first letter of the name as the first letter in the monogram. If AnnaLee's full name were "AnnaLee Caroline Smith," her monogram would be "ACS" in block style or "ASC" with the "S" in a larger font.

Initials are the capital letters which begin each word of a name. For example, if your full name is Michael Dennis Stocks, your initials will be M. D.

They have a name & email associated, and can have automations sent to that contact. If some of the names don't have this circle, it's possible that their name was either entered in a Text/Number type of column, or that they have a name entered as text in a Contact Column without having an email associated.

From the Contact settings, tap the 'Short Name' setting. In Short Name settings, turn off the toggle for 'Short Name'. Now, while you're at it, also turn off the toggle for 'Prefer Nicknames'. Go to the Messages app and see if this fixed your issue.
