A text field is a basic text control that enables the user to type a small amount of text. When the user indicates that text entry is complete (usually by pressing Enter), the text field fires an action event. If you need to obtain more than one line of input from the user, use a text area.

From a user interface (UI) design perspective, a form is an element that allows the user to send information to a server. We might imagine a form looking (and behaving) like the piece of paper you fill out when joining a gym.

The text box is divided into two types: horizontal text box and vertical text box.

Custom fields "Text" and "Text box" can both contain text type values. However the "Text" type field is limited to 255 caracters while "Text box" type does not have a limit.

The Single Line Text field is a single textbox that's most useful for collecting one-word answers and short phrases.

The required attribute is a boolean attribute. When present, it specifies that an input field must be filled out before submitting the form. Note: The required attribute works with the following input types: text, search, url, tel, email, password, date pickers, number, checkbox, radio, and file.

The Text field is one of the most generic and common data entry fields used to capture text type data?letters, numbers, and symbols. Text fields hold up to 255 characters in a single line. You can restrict the number of characters entered by specifying a maximum field size.
