Delete Footnote Warranty For Free

Highlight the footnote reference mark in your document. Press either Del or Ctrl+X.

First, you should check the obvious formatting-related issues. Are some of your footnotes formatted as Hidden text? If they are and you have Word configured to not print Hidden text, the footnotes will not be visible in Print Preview. You'll also want to check to make sure that Track Changes isn't turned on.

Use footnotes and endnotes to explain, comment on, or provide references to something in a document. Usually, footnotes appear at the bottom of the page, while endnotes come at the end of the document or section.

Remove a footnote If you want to delete the footnote (that's at the bottom of the page), delete the number ?1? in the body. When you do that, the footnote itself disappears. Another way you can do this is to right-click the footnote at the bottom of the page, select Go to Footnote and then delete the number there.

Insert footnotes and endnotes Click where you want to reference to the footnote or endnote. On the References tab, select Insert Footnote or Insert Endnote. Enter what you want in the footnote or endnote. Return to your place in the document by double-clicking the number or symbol at the beginning of the note.

In the Find What box, enter ^f. This indicates that you want to search for footnote marks. Make sure the Replace With box is empty. Click on Replace All.

With the pointer, press the arrow to the right of the box that says ?All Endnotes.? Several choices will appear. Select ?Endnote Continuation Separator.? A line running the width of the page will appear. Highlight the line. Delete the line.

In short, the fix for you is NOT to delete the empty paragraph itself, instead you should delete the paragraph marker which ends the paragraph ABOVE that paragraph. The easiest way to do this is to put your cursor at the start of the paragraph you want to delete and press the Backspace key instead of the Delete key.

Deleting All Footnotes Or Endnotes Select Edit Replace. Click in the Find What field and click Special. Select Endnote Mark or Footnote Mark. Click Replace All (leave the Replace With field blank).
