Summary Create footnotes with the \footnote command and label them with \label. Make sure that the label is contained within the braces of the footnote command. Use the \ref command to refer to footnotes.

From the View menu, select Footnote. This opens up the Footnote pane at the bottom of the document window. Select Footnote Separator. You're now in editing mode modify or delete the line, and/or delete any weird stuff (like an errant header/footer!).

The Go To tab of the Find and Replace dialog box. In the Enter Footnote Number box, enter the footnote number to which you want to jump. If you want to go to the next footnote, leave the box blank. Click on the Go To button or the Next button.
