Collate Logo Permit For Free

Most universities have a copyrighted and trademarked logo or name. This protects them legally against others selling items with their name or logo.

If you are interested in using their logos and/or trademarks, you will need to contact each conference or institution individually. The NCAA does not maintain a list of each school's licensee contact.

Fees for just the application alone will cost from $4,500 to $21,000 or more for a "standard license" ("local licenses" can be cheaper). The royalties are also quite high: most individual schools require a royalty of around 15% of sales.

The language and logos protected by the University include, but are not limited to, the words ?University of North Carolina?, ?North Carolina? , ?Carolina?, ?UNC?, ?Tar Heels?, ?Heels? and logos of the Old Well, the University seal, the interlocking NC, the Tar Heel foot and the Strutting Ram.

The most common placement of these symbols is at the bottom right or the top right of the logo. While you want these to be clear enough to serve their purpose, they should also not be too large so as to distract the viewer from your actual logo.

Insert copyright and trademark symbols To insert the copyright symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+C. To insert the trademark symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+T. To insert the registered trademark symbol, press Ctrl+Alt+R.

Word will automatically correct this to the TM symbol on both Windows and macOS. If you're using Windows, you can also insert the 2122 symbol by pressing Ctrl + Alt + T. On a Mac, you can also insert this symbol by pressing Option + 2.

There is some flexibility as to how and where to use the TM, SM, or ® symbol. Typically, it is placed in the upper right-hand corner, in the lower right-hand corner, or level with the mark or logo itselfeach is an acceptable way of displaying the relevant symbol.

Part Two: Where should I put the TM, SM, or circle R symbol? There is no mandate on where to place the symbol, but it should be in close proximity to the logo mark or adjacent to the word mark. The most common placement is to the right of the logo or design mark.
