The Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) audit log is a valuable source of information when troubleshooting why and how Conditional Access policy changes happened in your environment.

View the activity log You can access the activity log from most menus in the Azure portal. The menu that you open it from determines its initial filter. If you open it from the Monitor menu, the only filter is on the subscription. If you open it from a resource's menu, the filter is set to that resource.

Conditional fields allow you to manage sets of dependencies between fields. Such fields are available for editing and display only if the right condition is met. To create conditional fields, you must first create custom fields and then leverage such fields in forms.

In the Azure portal, click Azure Active Directory. Under Security, click Conditional Access.

The What If tool in Conditional Access is powerful when trying to understand why a policy was or wasn't applied to a user in a specific circumstance or if a policy would apply in a known state. The What If tool is located in the Azure portal > Azure Active Directory > Security > Conditional Access > What If.

View Conditional Access policies in Azure AD sign-in logs The Conditional Access tab lists the Conditional Access policies applied to that sign-in event. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center as at least a Global Reader. Browse to Identity > Monitoring & health > Sign-in logs.

The field that has logic applied will display a purple LOGIC symbol telling you that the field has conditional logic applied to it. Just as you can use Conditional Logic for fields, you can also use this feature for entire sections on forms.
