Change Currency Settlement For Free

One can classify currencies into three monetary systems: fiat money, commodity money, and representative money, depending on what guarantees a currency's value (the economy at large vs. the government's physical metal reserves).

Settlement currency is the currency a vendor selects to be paid out in and the currency in which funds are sent to the vendor's bank account. You can have one settlement currency or multiple, depending on the functionality of your payment processor and the availability of accounts.

To enable alternative currency payouts, you must configure the currencies and bank accounts in your Dashboard. First, in your Payout Settings, you need to select the settlement currency you want to receive funds in using the Manage currencies button to start accumulating a balance in that currency.

For example, an investor wants to purchase 1,000 euros with Japanese yen. The exchange rate between these two currencies is 1 EUR to 130 JPY. Here, euros would be the transaction currency, and the Japanese yen would be the settlement currency.

The presentment currency is the currency that's used for charges. The settlement currency is the currency that you can receive payouts in, depending on the charge type and applicable currency conversion.

Local Currency Settlement (LCS) is the settlement of bilateral transactions carried out by two countries using the local currency prevailing in each country. This policy aims to reduce dependence on the US dollar currency for bilateral trade transaction settlement and maintain the stability of the local currency value.

In forex (fx) trading, the settlement currency (also referred to as payment currency) is the second currency listed in the currency pair description (example: EUR.USD). The transaction currency multiplied by the exchange rate will indicate the settlement currency amount for the transaction.

Log into your Questrade account and find the ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT tab within the ACCOUNTS section. Then find the Currency settlement option and click on Change. Select the Currency of transaction as the current setting and you're set!
