The best way to complete your certification is online from am - pm on your designated certification day, including holidays. Thursdays and Fridays are make-up days if you miss your certification day. You may also certify by Tele-Serve at (312) 338-4337 (am - pm, Monday - Friday).

You will be assigned a certification day: either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. If you miss your regular certification day, you can certify on Thursday or Friday. Or, you can certify the week after. Instructions will be sent to you after you apply for benefits, with the details for how you should certify.

Call 1-866-333-4606 to use EDD Tele-Cert. You must certify for benefits every two weeks. This option is recommended.

If you're certifying by phone, you should instead call the unemployment hotline for the area they filed from. Residents of North Jersey should call 201-601-4100; residents of Central Jersey should call 732-761-2020; and residents of South Jersey should call 856-507-2340.

If you miss claiming benefits for a week during which you were unemployed, you can request credit for this week by secure message, fax or regular mail. Do not call the Telephone Claims Center to request back credit for a week.

Payment information is updated daily at 6 a.m. (Pacific time). If you submit your certification by phone, your payment will generally be deposited on to your EDD Debit CardSM within 24 hours. Note: If you submitted your certification by mail and/or requested your benefit payments by check, allow 10 days for processing.
