It can be shown as 1:1 or 1=1. The first number represents the actual size of the part and the second number represents the print. In other words, 1:2 means the the print is double the actual size. Whereas 3:1 indicates the actual size is three times what is shown on the print.

The ability to read and interpret blueprints is a useful skill for inspectors in order to gain an accurate understanding of the architect's intent, and to be able to interpret the building's specifications properly. One of the most important aspects of a blueprint is reading the specifications (or specs). They could include the project schedule, particular requirements for clean-up, or required material. Acquiring all project documents and specs will ensure the project is completed as planned.
