Closing the Bookmarks Sidebar In the very upper-left of your screen, there is an icon that looks like a miniature version of Safari with a sidebar. That's not just an icon; it's a button. All you have to do is tap the button and the Bookmarks Sidebar will close.

Open Chrome and go to google.com. Select Settings in the bottom-right corner. Select Search settings in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to the Autocomplete with trending searches section and select Do not show popular searches.

Select "New incognito window" from the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the browser. A new "incognito window" will open. Browse sites as usual. While in the "incognito window", bookmark pages (manually), by dragging them from the URL bar to folder in your bookmark bar.

Works in Incognito mode. To allow this, open your Chrome menu (the three dots in a row to the right of your Omnibox), hover over More Tools, and click on Extensions. From here, locate Secure Bookmarks and select Details. Then, simply move the slider marked Allow in incognito.

To disable the prediction service, open Chrome, click the 3-dots menu, and choose Settings. Under Sync and Google Services / Other Google Services you will find Autocomplete searches and URLs.

In the Bookmarking Tools menu, click the View/Hide Bookmarks Toolbar option to toggle the bookmarks bar on and off.
