Assignment Remove Selected Option For Free

To change the selected option in an HTML <select> element you have to change the value property on the <select> element or the selected property on the <option> element you want to select. There are multiple ways you can do it and choosing one or another will depend on the information you have available.

This is only possible if while defining the dropdown menu programmer defines or creates a button for the user to remove the options. To remove any option user have to select it and by using the remove() function and getting the element by 'getElementById' and 'selectedIndex' methods the user can remove it.

Select the option from select which needs to remove. Use JQuery remove() method to remove the option from the HTML document.

This is done using jQuery click() method. $("#lang option:first") is used to target first option of select tag. remove() method is used to delete or remove that selected option.
