Change the column width to automatically fit the contents (AutoFit)Select the column or columns that you want to change.On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click Format.Under Cell Size, click AutoFit Column Width.

To best fit one column, right click on the column header and select Best Fit. The selected column will adjust to display the full contents of the column. To best fit the entire gird, right click on any column header and select Best Fit (all columns). All columns in the grid will adjust to display their full contents.

Adjust Column Width Or, select the column(s) you want to adjust, click the Home tab on the ribbon, click the More button in the Records group, select Field Width, enter the column width and click OK.

The width of the columns i.e. td in a table can be fixed very easily. This can be done by adding the width attribute in the <td> tag. If the width is not specified, the width of the column changes according to the change in the content.

To use AutoFit, simply double-click the right edge of the column or field you wish to adjust. Scroll to the right until the Address field is displayed. Double-click the right edge of the Address field name to automatically adjust its width.

On the Page Layout or Layout tab, click Columns. At the bottom of the list, choose More Columns. In the Columns dialog box, adjust the settings under Width and spacing to choose your column width and the spacing between columns.
