Form 941 is an employer's quarterly federal tax return. Employers in the U.S. regularly take certain amounts out of their employees' paychecks for federal income tax, social security tax and Medicare tax. This withheld money is reported to the government via Form 941, a tax form from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

The updated Form 941 (Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return) was released on June 19, 2020. The IRS released two drafts of the 941 instructions and released the final instructions on June 26. The instructions are 19 pages long. The prior version was 12 pages.

Use Form 941-SS to report social security and Medicare taxes for workers in American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Information you report on Form 941 includes wages paid to employees, reported tips, federal income taxes withheld, Social Security and Medicare taxes (both employee and employer portions), and additional taxes withheld.

Click on the Employees menu. Choose Payroll Tax Forms & W-2s, then Process Payroll Forms. Choose filing period to Quarter Ending to 03/31/2018. Click on the 941 form.
