Stamp duties 2% of the amount or value of the consideration for conveyances of properties, for the sale or transfer of immovable property. Immovable properties located in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, and Mandalay are subject to an additional 2% of stamp duty on the consideration equal to the market value of the properties.

In 2013, Myanmar introduced a 2 percent income tax on the value of all exported goods. All exporters had to pay an advance income tax assessment of 2 percent on the customs value of exported goods. With this announcement, the 2 percent advance income tax for the fiscal year 2019-2020 will be eliminated.

Capital gains taxes Residents and non-residents are taxed at 10% on their capital gains. Different rates apply for capital gains from the sale, exchange, or transfer of capital assets relating to companies engaged in upstream oil and gas activities relating to exploration, drilling, and extraction within Myanmar.
