Commuted Leave Rules for West Bengal Govt Employees: 2 half pay leave is equal to 1 commuted leave. Admissible on the Medical ground, not exceeding half the amount of half pay leave due and study purpose in the interest of public service, up to a maximum of 90 days.

FR 81: Leave may be granted to a Govt. servant at the discretion of the authority entitled to grant the leave. The maximum period of continuous absence from duty on leave granted otherwise than on MC is 28 months. This period shall in no circumstances be exceeded by a Govt.

The limit of 180 days removed . Sanctioning authority has to believe that the Government servant will return to duty on expiry of leave.

Provided that no half pay leave shall granted for more than 180 days at a time. (B) a teacher on commuted leave is entitled to leave salary equal to twice the amount admissible to him under Clause (d) above.

Casual Leave Casual leaves are the type of leaves used most by employees. An employee granted commuted leave quits service voluntarily without returning to duty, the commuted leave shall be treated as HPL and the excess leave salary recovered. If the retirement is by reason of ill-health incapacitating him for further service or in the event of death, recovery should not be made.

Calculation for Leave Salary: Formula for calculation of leave salary is Cash Equivalent = ( Pay + DA + MA )/30 X Unutilized Earned Leave subject to a maximum of 300 days.

In case an employee resigns or quits from service, he will be granted leave encashment for a period not exceeding half the E.L. due not exceeding 150 days. Cash Equivalent = ( Pay + DA + MA }/30 X Unutilized Earned Leave subject to a maximum of 300 days.)
