You should study for the real estate exam for at least several weeks before your test date. The whole point of taking your pre-licensing courses is to prepare you, first for the exam, and then for your work as an agent, so really, you should be thinking of your courses as exam prep time as well.

The state exam includes about 45 questions on real estate law, about 45 questions on principles of real estate, as well as about 10 questions on real estate mathematics.

Pass Rate. For salespersons, you need to answer 56 questions correctly on the National examination and 21 questions correctly on the State examination to pass the examination.

How do I become exempt from CE? An agent who has been licensed for 20 consecutive years is exempt from the continuing education requirement upon request. The exemption does not apply to the education requirements for licensees selling Medicare-related products. A request for exemption form is available from TDI.

License holders must meet Continuing Education (CE) requirements during each two- year license period. CE must include 4 hours of Legal Update I, 4 hours of Legal Update II, 3 hours of Contract-Related coursework, and 7 hours of elective CE courses for a total of 18 hours.

Of all states, Colorado and Texas come on top as the hardest in terms of granting a real estate license. Each of the states requires some education and a test, which you must pass before being issued with a real estate license.
