How to fill out the checklist for interviewing tenure-track hiring - College of Arts and Sciences online
Filling out the checklist for interviewing tenure-track hiring is an essential step in the faculty recruitment process within the College of Arts and Sciences. This guide will provide you with clear instructions on how to complete the checklist effectively and efficiently online, ensuring you meet all necessary requirements.
Follow the steps to complete the checklist successfully.
- Click the ‘Get Form’ button to retrieve the checklist and open it in the online editor.
- In Part I, ensure you compile and send the candidate’s vitae, three current letters of recommendation, and a copy of the advertisement to the appropriate Senior Associate Dean for approval before scheduling any on-campus interviews.
- For junior faculty candidates, schedule the interviews with the appropriate Senior Associate Dean through LaTasha Middleton at 777-7161. For senior faculty candidates, coordinate with Dean Mary Anne Fitzpatrick and the Senior Associate Dean through Cheri Shinn at 777-7798.
- Proceed to Part II after conducting interviews. Gather the required materials, including the chair's memorandum, candidate's c.v., three current letters of recommendation, and the advertisement. Forward these to Cheri Shinn’s attention by noon on the Friday prior to the next scheduled Senior Staff meeting.
- Be prepared to provide any additional documentation if requested later, such as FEI Search Committee Summary, FEI Endorsement Sheet, or forms related to budgetary changes, ensuring each submission adheres to the university policies.
- When the Dean extends an offer for a tenure-track faculty position, it must include only the salary and prescribed language mandated by legislative or institutional requirements outlined in Part III.
- Make sure to detail the breakdown of start-up costs in the chair's recommendation, specifying the financial commitments from the department and college.
- In Part IV, remember that you may invite multiple candidates for campus interviews, as funding for interviewing may be provided up to $5,000 per vacancy, ensuring all costs, including advertising, are accounted for.
- Once you have completed filling out the checklist, save the changes, download the form, or print it for your records or future sharing.
